Trip summary
The Nyika Plateau is unlike anywhere on the continent. The breath-taking scenery (think the Scottish Highlands but with a touch more sunshine) is the main draw, but the wildlife-watching is also good with over 100 mammals hiding in the heathery hills.
It’s a completely different safari experience to any you will have had before, and an extremely relaxing one, but there’s also the opportunity to ramp up the excitement with game drives, walking safaris, mountain bike adventures and even horseback safaris - and riding across the rolling landscape alongside Burchell’s zebra is definitely one for the bucket list!
End your route with some time on Likoma Island; a tranquil, mango-strewn hideaway, there are plenty of activities both above and below the water to enjoy.
