This remote former harbour control station has been transformed into a luxurious beach lodge next to the working Pelican Point lighthouse, and offers a choice of nine beautifully-styled suites with stunning sea views and distinctive maritime flair. The emphasis here is the appreciation of the solitude, marine wildlife, and the often wild and stormy seascapes. You'll need a 4x4 vehicle for the half-hour drive from Walvis Bay, the nearest town, unless you opt for a boat or road transfer. A truly out-of-the-way spot to soak up the natural beauty of this stretch of shoreline.

Remote location and luxurious accommodation, with a real feeling of solitude.
Spectacular beach setting renowned for its fascinating marine wildlife.
Endless walks along deserted stretches of beach, with great photographic opportunities.
This part of the coastline is renowned for its unpredictable weather – calm sunny days become blustery and chilly, and strangely silent sea mist can roll in within minutes. With this in mind, guests have the choice of an outdoor viewing deck, or a spacious and cosy indoor lounge with a fireplace. The elegant restaurant has stunning views of the peninsula on clear days, with soft lighting and warm colours for those misty conditions giving it a totally different feel.
Pelican Point offers a choice of nine individually decorated suites with ocean-inspired hues and simple clean lines. Some are on the ground floor with the beach literally on your doorstep, while others are upstairs with private balconies. Right at the top, the Captain’s Cove Suite is an open-plan conversion of the original harbour control tower, with panoramic views of the peninsula and out to sea. This one has a raised bathtub overlooking the beach, and is the most romantic choice.
Pelican Point is a good choice if you’re seeking an unusual location for a short break in an isolated and beautiful setting.. The lodge is a haven of stylish luxury on the shores of Walvis Bay.

Pelican Point Lodge is a nature lover's paradise. This pristine stretch of protected coastline and peninsula has a thriving marine wildlife population, and the emphasis here is to get out there and make the most of the solitude and elemental feel. Several colonies of Cape fur seals are nearby, together with huge flocks of terns and flamingos. Picnics can be arranged for long walks on the beach, and kayaking and dolphin cruises are optional extras.
