Beginning with an all-round favourite, Chobe National Park, take a scenic water safari as you float along the dreamy Chobe River. Your home-away-from-home for these first two nights is the delightful tented camp, Chobe Under Canvas.
Taking to the air and travelling by plane between each new destination is one of the most exciting ways to experience this vast and unbelievable landscape before you discover it all from the ground. The secluded Delta islands quickly become tufts of rich greenery amongst the winding waterways as they spill out across the Kalahari. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for wildlife at every turn!
Spend two nights at Savute Under Canvas, a mobile camp where you’ll always find yourself in a prime wildlife-viewing area. You’ll have a chance to spot Savute’s famous elephant-hunting lions and encounter some of the area’s stunning birdlife. Head out to the Gubatsa Hills, where you can explore the giant baobab trees or discover the ancient rock art which tells a story all its own.
Finish off your Botswana adventure with a three-night stay at Nxabega Camp, where the mystery of the Delta’s iconic islands awaits from your seat in a mokoro, not to mention guided walking safaris where this almost untouched wilderness unfolds before you. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for the majestic strolling elephants or the watery snort of a hippo. When the water levels are high enough, you can even enjoy a spot of catch-and-release fishing.
You will be met on arrival at Kasane Airport and driven to &Beyond Chobe Under Canvas.
You'll find all the mod cons at this stylishly authentic tented camp on the Chobe River in northern Botswana's Chobe National Park, home to some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. Mobile camps are the best way to get really close to the game (Chobe under Canvas changes site every five or six days), and little compares with the awe-inspiring experience of falling asleep to the nocturnal desert chorus. Prepare yourself for amazing up-close game-viewing, staff whose light-hearted attitude is combined with an excellent knowledge of the area and its animals and birds, and luxury accommodation.
Staying inside the park gets you access to the animals from before dawn until after dark. You're likely to see the Big Five, along with giraffe, baboon, antelope and more antelope, a rich birdlife and plenty of smaller creatures.

Meru-style tents
Quite an anomaly in the north-eastern corner of the Okavango Delta, Savuti is covered in arid savannah, punctuated by marshes refilled in the rainy season and an unpredictable, usually-dry channel. Experiences are entirely land-based with game drives leading the charge. Wildlife is diverse and dense with prides of lion, elephant and African painted dogs as the highlights. Savuti lions are famous for hunting elephants! Attracted by the scarce water sources, you’ll spy roan and sable, zebra and buffalo, and a bevy of incredible birdlife including carmine bee-eaters, rollers and the kori bustard (the world’s heaviest flying bird). You can also explore the landscape on walking safaris or take it all in from a helicopter.
You will be collected from &Beyond Savute Under Canvas and driven to the airstrip for your flight to the Okavango Delta.
