Ang'ata Tarangire Camp ticks all the boxes of what you’re looking for when it comes to tented lodgings. Tarangire is known for the migration of wildebeest and zebras and fortunately for Ang’ata guests, the lodge is located near a popular drinking spot frequented by the thirsty ungulates. If you like baobab trees and elephants, book a balloon safari above the dramatic landscape where you can admire both.
From $350 person/night
The friendly, hands-on staff make this experience extra special.
Your morning coffee is delivered to your tent as a wake up call.
If you like to stay connected, this camp has Wi-Fi.
In the free hours you may mosey over to the main camp to charge your devices, use the wifi or just enjoy a cuppa overlooking the fantastic view. The lounge is comfortable with beautifully crafted wooden furniture and the dining area, which is just alongside, is a white-tablecloth affair. The best chill-out spot is the outdoor fire under a gnarled tree, where you can spend the evening marvelling at the milky way and listening to sounds from the inky-black wilderness.
Families and couples are catered for. The eight tents have enough distance between each for the utmost privacy and there is a two-tent family unit. Don’t expect to rough it: The tents have wooden floors, king-size beds with a mosquito net and an en-suite bathroom with a shower and hot water on tap. From your bed you can look out across the park or saunter over to your outdoor veranda for a breeze and a browse.
The location of the camp is great and within minutes of heading out on safari, animals are around in abundance.
Get acquainted with your environment beyond the camp perimeter when you go on game drive. Wildlife-rich areas are not far away. Night drives are also on offer, which is a great way to identify the sounds you’ll hear from your tent later that evening. Highly recommended is a walking safari where you slow down and appreciate the smaller highlights of the park. Chat to us about a balloon safari or organising a lunch or dinner in the wilderness.
Show all wildlife
Animals are plentiful in the Tarangire National Park, a landscape of famous upside down trees (baobabs), acacia woodlands, riverine forest and swamps. If you want to see elephants, this is the best place to go. Large herds roam the plains, among zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, tree climbing lions and the occasional leopard. A real treat is the birding, with more than 500 species recorded across the park. This is a true wildlife wonderland.
