Seeing the wildlife on horseback, which allows you to get closer than you ever thought possible. Ant's Hill's resident horses graze amongst the game so they canter along without causing a fuss.
The lodge has activities to suit little ones too including bug hunts and game tracking.
Wildlife sightings may differ from more well-known Big Five reserves but the game is especially relaxed here.
Ant’s Hill is perched on the edge of a cliff and offers breath-taking views across the Waterberg. The thatched main lodge boasts a spacious shared living area, bar and dining room, with fireplaces for chilly evenings. A large veranda and deck overhang the gorge and are ideal for enjoying breakfasts and sundowners, and an outdoor boma is perfect for dinner around a crackling bonfire. The heated swimming pool has a view forever, and overlooks a waterhole teeming with game.
The cottages at Ant’s Hill are constructed with local stone, gnarled wood and thatched roofs and are furnished with exotic furniture and brightly coloured African fabrics. Each cottage is uniquely designed, with vast folding doors opening onto a veranda. The individual bathrooms are spectacular, with sunken tub baths and waterfall showers. The view from each room is something to write home about, and the veranda is the perfect place to sit and watch the Waterberg world go by.
