Property details

The property

This double-storey hotel sits off the main road on a residential street. Its setting is undoubtedly urban, yet decidedly serene. Interiors tend toward a palate of blacks and whites, featuring eye-catching pops of colourful art which suggest both the good taste and good humour of the owner. The two lounges feature clean lines and varying textures; think leather sofas and cow-skin rugs. Windows separate the kitchen from the breakfast area, which is home to a plentiful morning buffet and several tables for two. Outside is a covered patio that stretches the length of the hotel, populated with plenty of seating in front of the lap pool, which glows sapphire at night.

The rooms

The ten rooms are spacious and luxurious, each with their own design personality. All are equipped with large en-suite bathrooms with both showers and deep tubs. Some have balconies with furnished verandas, while others have private patios with mountain, courtyard or ocean views. All rooms are outfitted with wifi, air-con and instant espresso machines and the honeymoon suite even has a daybed pod on its veranda, big enough for two to sink into.

Activities

Activity options in Cape Town are practically endless: lounge on a beach in Camps Bay (just around the corner), hike up Lion's Head (the backdrop of your hotel), or ride the cable car up Table Mountain. You could also graze the international fare at Mojo Market in Sea Point or sample more local flavours in colourful neighbourhood of Bo-kaap. Then, explore the trends at the nearby V&A Waterfront, home to the magnificent Two-Oceans Aquarium and Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art, all of which are within walking distance of the hotel.

The precision and clean-lined aesthetics of DysArt may mean it lacks a wee bit of cosiness for some guests.
