For centuries the Maasai tribe has learned to coexist with its surroundings and it's wildlife and the experienced and skilled Maasai spotters –trackers- will read all signs in order to find the best opportunities to observe the wildlife of the African Savannah. The property

A luxury and fully eco tented camp, located in the South East corner of the Masai Mara National Reserve right in the Great Migration´s access corridor. The Camp's location far from the crowds together with the expertise of their incredible Maasai guides and spotters guarantees the most amazing sightings in almost absolute privacy in the best Big5 territory of the entire ecosystem. The camp is only 20 minutes drive from Keekorok Airstrip.

The rooms

Enkewa has 8 luxury double tents and 1 Family Tent. All tents are fully insect-proof, with en-suite bathrooms and a flushing toilet, running cold water and hot safari showers. A strategic placing of the tents has been carefully chosen according to a geobiology analysis (magnetic fields and radiations) which will contribute to a better sleep. As per our eco-friendly ethos we exclusively use solar energy – provided 24 hours- so we can avoid use of generators or pumps that might interfere with our guests’ rest.

Activities

Enkewa Camp offers a variety of activities. Besides tracking the big 5, enjoying masai mara birdlife and its unique and diverse landscapes, you can also access the Sand River waterfalls. A hot-air balloon flight can also be arranged and for those interested in the local Masai culture you are invited to visit a traditional Masai village guided by one of Enkewa's Maasai staff members as well as a visit to the local market or the community projects they support. Bush breakfast/lunches as well as sundowners are also part of our itineraries. Enkewa Camp is children friendly and different programs for children can be arranged.

What you'll love

Enkewa Camp is one of our favourites in the Masai Mara, if not the whole of Kenya. It's a small, owner run camp of about 9 tents, in it very own secluded location close to Sand River and the border with Tanzania. This means that you can often go on safari without seeing another vehicle for hours, which is quite special for such a famous national park. Their guides are also some of the best in the country, most of whom grew up in the area and know the land like the back of their hand. Their meals are excellent for such a secluded location, and the personalised experience you'll have here is like nothing we've ever experienced. Delicious picnic bush breakfasts and lunches in carefully selected sites will be part of your unforgettable safari memories.
