We love that there’s a dedicated bar area. It’s a very charming spot, quaint with a few seats, some shade and not to be taken for granted ... cold beer. There’s no bottled water here so bring your own if that’s your thing. The food is superb, the soups especially. The dining tent is a green canvas affair, which is lit up with checked Maasai-red tablecloths and a touch of candlelight.
The canvas tents are spacious and well placed so guests can have their privacy and feel immersed in the surroundings. The 10 tents can be arranged for family occupancy too. Inside they have creature comforts like a king-size bed, warm water, slippers, a built in basin with a lovely wooden top and shelving, and drinking water provided. You pre-order your shower here. Staff will deliver hot water into your bucket-style safari shower. Bliss after a long day.
There’s lots to do so make sure you have a balance of activity and rest. For all the excursions you’re accompanied by a Maasai guide. First off, there’s the lake, the biggest lesser flamingo breeding area in east Africa. (Plan your trip for the right season if you want to see them) Then there’s a hike exploring the nearby gorge and swimming under a fresh waterfall. If you’re interested in hiking the volcano, chat to us and we’ll make arrangements.
