(Kasaka River Lodge will be closed until further notice for renovations).
At this lodge you’ll find fantastic service and winning smiles all round. This isn’t a camp that’s about dressing for dinner but about enjoying the beautiful landscapes of the Lower Zambezi in a relaxed and peaceful environment, no frills attached. Whether you choose to stay in camp and enjoy the uninterrupted views of the two National Parks on either side of the river or get to grips with your surroundings on a water or land based activity, Kasaka ticks all the boxes for an excellent and reasonably priced safari in this pretty corner of Africa.
From $530 person/night
Delve into the heart of the Lower Zambezi National Park on an all day game drive and stop for a picnic lunch under the trees.
Try to capture an infamous Zambezi Tiger, one of the world’s top game fish, on a catch-and-release fishing trip.
Splash around in the swimming pool in camp and watch the river meandering by.
The only decision to be made at Kasaka is which seating area to choose for your siesta! Pick a bucket chair in the raised main area for wonderful views across the river, delve into the library and brush up on your wildlife knowledge or get up close and personal with the creatures of the river in a director’s chair on the viewing deck. The only qualm is that you might have to share them with naughty monkeys…
The 8 tents are comfortable and cool and all have en suite bathrooms to the rear. Relax on the ‘tame’ side of camp, where 4 tents sit amid neatly manicured gardens or venture to the ‘wild’ side where the remaining 4 nestle amongst thick vegetation, linked by walkways over the gorges. The Wild Mango suite is a spacious and elegant with a huge 4-poster bed and the Hippo Pod house with private butler and chef is the perfect escape for families.
Even though Kasaka is just outside the park boundary, the park itself is unfenced and game will often wander straight through camp making for excellent photo opportunities.

Kasaka is located just a kilometre or two from the western end of the unfenced national park and game drives in the area produce excellent sightings. We also recommend getting into the heart of the park on all-day picnic drive for maximum game-viewing excitement. For a different perspective, leisurely canoe and boat safaris can be arranged as can community visits for an insight into the rich cultural heritage of the area.
Show all wildlife
The Lower Zambezi National Park lies in a large river valley with fertile soils providing the basis for a thriving ecosystem. Elephant and buffalo congregate along the river to graze along with impala, zebra and more, enjoying the nutritious vegetation of the region. Lion, leopard and the spotted hyena follow the herds, hunting as they move.
