Simple, tasteful mixture of canvas, open sided thatch and cobbled stoned walls allows Kirurumu to maximise the most of its surrounds without all the pop and ceremony.Maasai blankets scattered around simple wooden chairs, loungers and tables make for a comfortable and easy going atmosphere.Down a small stone pathway through the bush is the open sided thatch roofed dining room and further along sits the real gem, the outside bar that boast some magnificent views out over the valley.
Through the bushes along some winding pathways are the 27 tented rooms that make up the lodge. Built on raised wooden decks your canvas tent sits underneath thatch roofing, with fully ensuite bathrooms and decks with a table and chairs to admire the bush beyond.Three suites offer indoor seating, while another two have extra beds for families. Not all tents have views so make sure you ask beforehand and be aware that they only place for wifi is at the reception.
A stay a Kirurumu puts you within fairly easy access of both Lake Manyara National Park (20 minutes), Tarangire (40 minutes) and Ngorongoro crater (90 minutes). While there might be some bumpy driving either side don't forget to explore some the the activities that are found right onsite. There are Maasai guided walks, tours and traditional lunches in the nearby village, mountain biking and treks around the lodge and down the escarpment.
