25 Tents

What you'll love

A dramatic view from the tents (that are more like luxury cabins) with outdoor showers that are perfectly positioned for vistas of the wildlife-rich Serengeti by day, and the star-filled sky at night.

Insiders tip

There are big cats a plenty in the area around camp, but if you visit in migration season, you'll have the added bonus of thousands of snorting wildebeest running wild. Amazing.

Something to think about

The rooms are rather close together! They still offer a certain degree of privacy but they're definitely closer than you may be used to...

The property

The main area of this cosy lodge boasts a deck, lounge, and infinity pool with spectacular views over the Serengeti plains below. With its large living areas that allow guests to unwind in the lap of luxury while still giving them a front-row seat to passing wildlife, the camp offers exclusivity and a modern atmosphere. If you so wish, you can connect to the internet using the lodge's free Wi-Fi.

The rooms

Accommodation comes in the form of 25 spacious and stylish tents built on wooden platforms overlooking the Serengeti National Park. Each tent has a private, en-suite bathroom (outdoor shower, wash basin and toilet) and a double bed or two singles, with mosquito nets. All rooms are tastefully decorated, featuring a terrace with magnificent views. Kubu Kubu uses solar power, backed up by a generator to light up their tents but you'll often be found outside enjoy the constellations.

Hot Air Ballooning

Expeditions from Kubu Kubu involve game drives and hot air balloon safaris, and you can also visit the famous Maasai kopjes—granite outcrops that serve as highly sought-after perches for cheetah, lion, leopard, and other interesting wildlife. When not out searching for wildlife, visit the Maasai village of the Mbuwge tribe, or take time out relaxing next to the infinity pool. When the day’s adventures end, be sure to surrender your evening plans to the Serengeti sunsets.

The Serengeti National Park is an ecologically rich environment and home to vast herds of wildebeest, zebra, Thomson's gazelle and buffalo grazing on the sweet grasses of the savannah. Even after the Great Migration has moved through, the game viewing is exceptional in this region. The predators are never far off, with cheetah and lion in abundance and leopard readily seen in the Seronera region of the Central Serengeti. Enjoy expansive grasslands, acacia thickets, meru kopjes (granitic hills) and riverine forests.
