About Lavender Farm

A homage to Provence in the heart of South Africa's winelands
Accommodation in South Africa's famed Franschhoek wine region is, well, plentiful, but as the only abode in the region set on a lavender farm that whispers of a much-loved holiday in Provence, Lavender Farm Guest House is truly one of a kind. After a long day spent exploring Franschhoek's wine farms, cultural centres and fashion stores, return to your luxurious room (one of 28) to freshen up with a cup of tea, or take a dip in the pool overlooking three hectares of fragrant lavender and the exquisite mountains that shelter the Franschhoek valley.

Property details

The property

It's easy to lose yourself in the plethora of wine tastings and cultural activities that Franschhoek offers, but when you do return to the serene comforts of Lavender Farm you'll breathe a sigh of relief as you don your favourite costume and head to the pool to float in a dream-like state for an hour or two, watching the sun over the gardens. Head to the gorgeous white dining room for a relaxed and utterly delicious meal. It's sheer indulgence.

The rooms

All 28 of the available rooms are large and beautifully decorated with simple yet elegant touches (note the tribute to lavender in every one) and large en-suite bathrooms. Each has a private veranda overlooking the pretty gardens and mountain-backed lavender fields – perfect for relaxing with a morning coffee or an evening glass of bubbly. The beds are the very best – burrow under your comfy duvet for a blissful night's sleep. You can understand why honeymooners love Lavender Farm...

Activities

Get into the Provençal groove with a game of cards and a bottle of bubbly on the lawn under the huge acacia tree, or with a friendly yet competitive game of pétanque in the cobbled courtyard. Your French experience complete, step aboard the famed Franschhoek wine tram to experience some top-quality South African wines, or place your trust in your steed on a horseback wine trail through the vineyards and along the mountainside.
