The sheer size of the Serengeti can make you feel quite small, but Lemala Ewanjan's great facilities and exceptional location in the Seronera Valley will make you long to return. Unlike other parts of the Serengeti, this secluded area in the central plains has abundant water, so there's always plenty of game, enabling the camp to stay in one place, unlike its mobile counterparts. Look out for the resident cats, whose roars are sure to penetrate your dreams. Visit between April and June or November and January to see the Great Migration passing through, followed by the ever-watchful predators.

Seronera & Central Serengeti, Serengeti, Tanzania
Excellent game viewing all year.
The camp lies at the end of a blind valley, so no vehicles will interrupt your view during the day. And at night (this may be a first!), see how far your view extends when there's not an electric light in sight.
Never underestimate the appeal of a hot, wet cloth and a drink when you return from a game drive.
The main tented area or mess tent is beautifully decorated with leather sofas, cabinets, rugs and chests, and offers a separate bar, sitting and dining area. In the evening, guests gather around the campfire for sunset cocktails before dining in fine style under chandeliers or starlit skies. After dinner, have a nightcap beside the fire near the tents, watching the "bush TV". Internet access is available in the common areas.
Twelve en-suite tents are each fitted with two queen-sized beds, warm duvets (evenings can be cold), a flush toilet, large safari shower, plentiful running water, wooden floors and storage cabinets, 24-hour solar lighting and outside loungers on which to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee at the start of each exciting safari day.
Our tents were very comfortable and the 'talking shower' (administered by a staff member who fills the external bucket until you've finished) was a unique feature that simply has to be experienced. The wildlife cannot be beat.
Don't miss the morning and evening game drives to see more wildlife than you could imagine or go birdwatching in search of the 100-plus bird species in this region, most of which occupy the riverine areas. Do spend some time appreciating the scale of this wilderness and the animals it supports.
Ewanjan Tented Camp is owned by Lemala which support community, environmental protection, and sustainability. They engage in various philanthropic endeavours, including empowering women's groups, providing leadership academies for youth, and supporting shelters and orphanages. Their commitment to local sourcing extends to food and supplies, benefiting nearby communities. Lemala leads in renewable energy usage, recycling initiatives, and eliminating single-use plastics, demonstrating their dedication to environmental conservation.

The Serengeti National Park is an ecologically rich environment and home to vast herds of wildebeest, zebra, Thomson's gazelle and buffalo grazing on the sweet grasses of the savannah. Even after the Great Migration has moved through, the game viewing is exceptional in this region. The predators are never far off, with cheetah and lion in abundance and leopard readily seen in the Seronera region of the Central Serengeti. Enjoy expansive grasslands, acacia thickets, meru kopjes (granitic hills) and riverine forests.
