About Linyanti Bush Camp

Set on the banks of the Linyanti Marsh in a private concession, Linyanti Bush Camp's Meru-style tents have a real African safari atmosphere. Explore the wilderness on day and night game drives, get intimate with its small creatures and vegetation on a walking safari, and float along the waterways on boating and mokoro excursions. Observe the wildlife from a selection of hides or hop aboard a helicopter rides for panoramic views of the swamps, woodlands and mixed savanna. Lion, leopard, African wild dog and hyaena top the bill of predator attractions, and there are great numbers of elephant, hippo, buffalo and crocs. Linyanti is also an Important Bird Area.

What you'll love

Tracking big cat footprints in the sandy earth by morning and following rare African wild dogs in the afternoon, before freshening up in the copper shower with a view of the Linyanti marsh.

Insiders tip

The birdlife is excellent and there are plenty of local and migratory species to be spotted. A favourite sighting is always the spotted African eagle owl. Remember those binos!

Something to think about

The bush camp is located just next to the larger main camp so you might spot a few fellow safari-goers around and about the area.

The property

The elevated central area, with its lounge, bar, dining and communal meeting areas, has comfortable furniture that just beckons you to settle down with a book from the well-stocked bookshelves, or simply to take in the wide view of the surrounding marshes and Linyanti River. The atmosphere is old-style colonial, with an eclectic collection of artefacts from across Africa decorating the room. After dinner, cross the deck and head downstairs to enjoy chats and drinks around the crackling camp fire.
