Narina Lodge is an intimate retreat along the banks of the Sabie River, in the private Lion Sands concession in southern Kruger. It shares an unfenced border with the infamous Sabi Sand region, and the game viewing in this part of South Africa is, quite simply, outstanding. The lodge is beautifully positioned beneath centuries-old riverine trees, and with just nine ultra-luxurious suites, exclusivity is guaranteed. Safari activities are varied, with the freedom to follow the game off road, and explore after dark, but a real highlight is the opportunity to spend a night out in the bush, on a magical treehouse platform with only the stars for company.

Treat yourself to a soothing massage between game viewing activities, or simply laze beside your private plunge pool and soak up the magnificent river views.
If you’re feeling adventurous, opt for a night on one of the secluded treehouse platforms and drift off to sleep to the sounds of lion and hyena.
Enjoy the sight of elephant, buffalo and other wildlife coming down to drink at the river in front of the lodge.
Nestled beneath the trees along the riverbank, the main lodge is perched on a stilted timber platform, high above the ground. Settle into one of many squashy sofas and listen to the river swishing past, or retire inside and sample an exquisite wine from the cellar. Rock-clad walls, smooth wooden floors and earthy colours give the lounge a wonderfully natural feel, and contemporary organic décor adds a modern touch. Just in front, the wide dining deck offers fantastic views over the river, and there’s a traditional African boma just below.
Nine, ultra-luxurious, air-conditioned suites are spread out between the trees along raised wooden walkways. Spacious and completely private, each has a plunge pool and viewing deck, and a glorious, en-suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers and a deep tub facing out across the river - the ultimate bath with a view! Exposed thatched ceilings, warm natural colours and earthy textures invite the outside in, giving a delightful feel of absolute tranquillity and utter escapism.
There's always a few special surprises in store at Narina, from bush breakfasts and bush dinners, to river walks and safari lunches.
Early morning, late afternoon and night game drives consistently produce world-class wildlife encounters. This region is particularly renowned for its frequent leopard sightings, and it’s not uncommon to see all members of the Big Five during your stay (even on the first day!). Birdwatching is equally breath-taking, and guided bush walks offer the chance to discover the hidden secrets of the bush. Massages and wellness treatments are offered at the lodge, and visits to traditional villages in the surrounding communities can also be arranged.
