At the foot of Le Morne mountain, flanked by lush palms and sandy beaches Lux Le Morne has harnessed an incredibly attractive lagoon facing location. The UNESCO World Heritage site, known for its spectacular sunsets, 40km from Port Louis, is a haven for water babies as well as couples looking for something uniquely romantic. Property details

The property

As you arrive at Le Morne there are smiles all round as you look out over the laid back charm of the hotel grounds. Wooden decking extends out towards the turquoise waters, a plethora of loungers, chairs and sun umbrellas lining up across the main dining areas and five different locations that serve food and beverages in or out of the water. Four large pools are spread around the property, one with a swim up bar to make the most of the spectacular sunsets.

The rooms

A-framed island styled rooms and suites are dotted throughout the tropical gardens. Some, like the junior suite, come with marbled whirlpool bathrooms and either a balcony or outside terrace, perfect for in room dining. Splurge for the Honeymoon suite for the prefect romantic escape. Each room is decorated in light cotton with all the modern amenities like air conditioning, minibars and DVD players. Elegant, dark wooden shutters open up to the lagoon waters and manicured green lawns.

Activities

There is no better place to venture out into the crisp, blue ocean waters than Le Morne. Famed for both it's dolphin population and world class kite surfing expect to spend your time either in the waters or soaking up the sun along the idyllic sandy beaches. Explore further inland at Black River Gorges National Park or stay close to base with onsite yoga and spa treatments.
