For 34 years Maquipucuna has acted as a beacon of light within the Chocó Andino bioregion, jump-starting conservation in continental Ecuador. Covering over 14,000 acres, the Maquipucuna Reserve is the product of a lifetime’s work. Maquipucuna has invested in the research and protection of one of the top 5 biodiversity hotspots in the world; including that of endangered species such as the Andean (spectacled) bear.
This ecolodge is built with local bamboo in accordance with its natural surroundings by the Umachaca River, creating an even more beautiful, relaxing back-to-nature experience.
