The Palm Hotel & Spa has a generous leisure area that stylishly combines indoor and outdoor living. The two restaurants, lounge and bar area all lead onto an outdoor observatory deck, complete with two swimming pools and a hot tub. There's an onsite spa and fitness room, sun beds, a wellness area with hammam and spa bath, and a boutique shop with a selection of fun gift ideas.

The Palm Hotel & Spa has a variety of deluxe accommodation options scattered around the tropical gardens, including guest rooms, suites and lodges. All rooms feature air conditioning, flat-screen televisions, minibars, outdoor terraces or balconies, and en-suite bathrooms - and are tastefully decorated with dark timber furnishings, earthy tones and crisp white fabrics. Our favourite are the three lodges, perched on stilts right on the cliff's edge (perhaps not for the faint hearted...!) and offering spectacular views of Grande Anse Bay's beautiful powdery beaches.

The hotel offers a range of onsite activities including table tennis and mini-golf. The beach is a 10-minute stroll away and there's a selection of mountain treks ideal for day hikes in and around the area. Dubbed the adventure hub of the Indian Ocean Islands, Reunion has a host of adrenalin activities on offer: explore the Piton de la Fournaise Volcano, hike through the dramatic Mafate Calderas, visit a vanilla plantation or go on an aquatic-hike through the jungle. Whale watching is also possible from May-October.
