Pumula boasts an abundant bird life and more than 100 species have been identified to date. True birding enthusiasts can also visit the Woodbourne bird sanctuary, a mere 3 km from the lodge where the many visiting waders can be studied at leisure. Or, take a close drive to the surrounding Knysna forests and enjoy a pleasant walk on one of the many trails. You might just catch a glimpse of the shy and elusive Narina Trogon.
