Royal Heritage Haveli

Overlooking the haveli's cascading lawns, the Frangipani Spa offers a variety of massage styles using only organic oils from Kerala. Enjoy a dip in the lovely marble and sandstone pool or recline on the pinstripe loungers as the sweet scent of Frangipani floats by. Inside, you'll find plush furnishings and stately communal areas. The hotel has plentiful dining options including breakfast on the sunny verandah, a selection of delicious pastries in Cafe Samsara or dinner to the soft strum of a santoor - and don't forget about the well-stocked bar.

The hotel has 14 Heritage suites, which were converted from original rooms, so they can feel a little aged. All brightly coloured, the rooms have been decked out in modern decor alongside 'heritage' furniture and artwork. Amenities include a flat screen TV, mini-bar and air con. The Heritage Premium Suite comes with a private dining area, terrace and lovely hand-painted ceilings. The hotel's Signature Suite has a living room, dining area and private kitchen as well as a top-notch bathroom with a rainfall shower and deep bathtub. You can also step out into a pretty, rosy courtyard!

Here, in one corner of India's 'Golden Triangle', you'll find bazaars filled with rich textiles, gorgeous jewellery and classic miniature paintings. Then comes the lofty forts, perched on the hillside, and with a lot of history to tell. Amer Fort is a lovely choice for a nighttime visit when the light and sound show is in full force. Phool Mandi, the flower market, is a riot of colour and definitely worth visiting!
