About Savuti Camp

This well appointed but intimate tented camp is situated in the private Linyanti Reserve, on the banks of the Savute Channel, close to the source of the Delta. Set amongst the trees, the camp is most notable for offering some of the best elephant viewing in Africa during its winter months, and for its abundant year-round game and high predator densities. Regarded by many as the best camp in the entire Linyanti region, Savuti is highly recommended by guides and guests alike. Its reputation is almost as good as its game viewing opportunities.

The property

Savuti Camp has spacious communal areas built with thatched roofs on wooden frames. The raised floors and walkways aim to exploit the views across the channel. Sizable sofas offer welcoming comfort while the dining area offers a choice of indoor or alfresco dining, either under cover or on the large viewing deck, depending on temperature. There is a small swimming pool with sun-loungers, and a great campfire nook from which to salute the sunset with a cocktail.

The rooms

Savuti consists of seven large, en-suite tents that are raised off the ground and face onto the water. Constructed with thatch that reaches almost to the floor, it is full of rich earthy tones, natural textures and wooden surfaces. The strategic position of the king-sized bed ensures your attention is placed firmly on the entrance and the wilds beyond. The private verandah has decadent deck furniture that provides front-row seats to the Channel action.

Day and night game drives are the main activity at Savuti, each revealing their own unique selection of sightings. There are guided walking safaris for the more active, and pre-arranged night sleep-outs in one of the game-hides for more adventurous spirits. Aquatic activities, which are subject to water levels, include catch and release fishing and boating safaris. There are also exceptional birding and photographic opportunities from the hides.
