Fancy some migration action? Come to Serengeti Safari Camp from May to early July and you'll witness the unforgettable sight of the herds as they rut and prepare to cross the Grumeti River. The camp is mobile – it follows the migration – and in this sector it is pitched beneath acacia trees near the action. It's a small, high-spec camp, so you can expect a smooth and safe experience, with warm hosts, well-informed and genial guides, elegantly comfortable tents, good foods and unforgettable sightings.

The migration patterns can be unpredictable during this time of year, but your expert guides at the Serengeti Safari Camp have a few tricks up their sleeves.
The first of its kind, Serengeti Safari Camp is a leader in the field of mobile camping, changing location to follow the movements of the migration (it won't move during your stay). The camp is pleasantly small, with a large open-sided tent containing the lounge and dining areas leading out to a campfire. The atmosphere is convivial and the food very good, catering for everyone.
There are just six subtly elegant tents in a beautiful setting with great views. Each is spacious, with hand-crafted furniture, good linens and a comfortable bed. The bathroom is en suite, with a tub, handbasins, a toilet and a shower with an open roof, allowing you to soap yourself beneath the stars. Each has a sheltered porch area with chairs overlooking the bush.
Activities are centred mainly on daytime game drives, with off-road driving permitted to get you close to the action. The vehicles are shared, although a private vehicle and guide are available, at a price. The guides here are highly rated. In the evenings, guests generally relax at the fireside with post-dinner drinks, comparing their experiences and sharing images.
Serengeti Safari Camp is owned by Nomad Tanzania, their mission is to unlock life-enhancing opportunities wherever they're needed. Through their camps, they foster dynamic careers, support local suppliers, provide medical outreach, and fund free school meals. Their commitment to lifelong learning, health, and conservation permeates every aspect of their business, creating a positive cycle of empowerment and opportunity that uplifts communities and protects the environment.
Show all wildlife
The Serengeti National Park is an ecologically rich environment and home to vast herds of wildebeest, zebra, Thomson's gazelle and buffalo grazing on the sweet grasses of the savannah. Even after the Great Migration has moved through, the game viewing is exceptional in this region. The predators are never far off, with cheetah and lion in abundance and leopard readily seen in the Seronera region of the Central Serengeti. Enjoy expansive grasslands, acacia thickets, meru kopjes (granitic hills) and riverine forests.
