The owners and staff, who make sure that your stay is relaxing and comfortable.
The opportunity to absorb some of Windhoek's varied and vibrant atmosphere.
The garden (so green in this desert landscape) and pool.
The guest house's main area includes a lounge with plump couches and a library. There is a large breakfast room, where tea and coffee are always available, and an honesty bar in the kitchen. Breakfast is a generous buffet, but other meals are not served here. However, the staff are happy to recommend local eateries and arrange a taxi. Doors from the main area lead to a tranquil garden, and there's a pool and secure parking.
Six bedrooms lead off a peaceful central courtyard. All are similar in terms of amenities, although room three is popular with honeymooners because it has a private patio and is closest to the swimming pool. Decorated with neutral colours and fabrics, each room has a double or twin beds, an en-suite bathroom with shower and toilet, air conditioning and a satellite TV. Extra blankets are provided for chilly winter nights, and the fluffy bathrobes are a lovely extra touch.
The Elegant Guesthouse is a friendly, comfortable place to stay while in Windhoek. We particularly like the tranquil garden – it is the perfect place to relax for a night or two at the start or end of a holiday in Namibia. We loved that there is an honesty bar in the restaurant area – a rare feature in this day and age.
The guesthouse can be used as a base from which to explore Windoek, which certainly has much of historical, cultural, restaurant and retail interest for everyone. However, it's mainly used as a welcome stopover for people beginning or ending a visit toNamibia.
