Stay out after dark on exciting night drives and experience the thrill of tracking and finding one of the Big Five.
Between game drives, relax next to the swimming pool or on your private deck and look out for wildlife drawn to the waterhole.
The lodge offers accommodation for a maximum of just eight guests, ensuring a very private and exclusive safari experience.
The guest area is superbly positioned on a raised deck overlooking the waterhole, and has a relaxed yet classy, colonial African style that feels more like a private bushveld home than a safari lodge. There’s a comfortable lounge and library with an open fireplace, an elegant dining room, and a cosy bar curving out onto the terrace and swimming pool, with a traditional African boma a short distance from the main lodge, where dinners are often served under the stars.
Waterbuck Lodge has just four double or twin suites, scattered along a winding pathway which leads through the bush from the main lodge. The interiors are extremely roomy, with an extra sense of space provided by the peaked thatched ceilings, and an opulent feel created by the dark wooden finishes, beautiful ethnic fabrics and rich earthy colours. Each suite has a raised private deck overlooking the waterhole. Bathrooms are en-suite, with a deep tub and an outdoor shower.
This elegant bush lodge offers superb game viewing and hospitality, and is an excellent choice for a sole-use small group safari.

Early morning and afternoon game drives offer the chance to encounter all of the Big Five species, together with large numbers of plains game and an incredible variety of birdlife. Expertly guided night drives consistently yield great leopard and spotted hyena sightings, and perhaps some of the more uncommon smaller predators like serval and civet. Guided bush walks provide an appreciation of the skilful art of tracking, and other fascinating aspects of this wilderness that are best experienced on foot.
