The original homestead is surrounded by beautiful, rose-filled gardens and has a delightful colonial feel, with an elegant lounge and library with an open fireplace. The décor is a mix of vintage settler style and trendy Afro-chic and is contemporary and quirky. A separate thatched restaurant and bar with a shaded outdoor viewing deck overlooks a picturesque lake, alive with water birds. The tranquil spa is tucked away in the gardens beneath towering palms and next to the saltwater swimming pool.
Seven luxurious rooms, three private suites, and a large family suite with two bedrooms offer an excellent range of accommodation with a unique style. Some reflect the region’s colonial history, while others have a modern feel, but all are superbly appointed with rich natural colours, decadent raw silks, and fine linens. Huge ensuite bathrooms have deep bathtubs inside, and completely private outdoor showers. All have climate control, CD players, internet access, and private verandas opening out to the gardens.
The focus at Woodall is to relax and soak up the tranquil country feel – stroll through the gardens and fragrant citrus groves, pamper yourself with a beauty treatment in the spa, or enjoy a soothing massage in the privacy of your suite. The adjacent Addo Elephant National Park is home to large numbers of elephant, buffalo, lion and antelope, and guided day and night drives are offered for Woodall guests. There are also several other well-known game reserves within easy driving distance.
