Those who have visited Zimbabwe's Mana Pools will assure you that it's one of the most spellbinding places on earth. The Mana Pools National Park is a World Heritage Site known for its wildlife-rich flood plains and spectacular views of the Zambezi River. It's also an unmatched destination for game-drives, bush walks and canoeing safaris. Zambezi Expeditions - a luxury mobile camp set up alongside the floodplains of Mana Pools - brings you as close as possible to the magic. This 12-bedded camp takes 'glamping' to new heights and forms the perfect base for an adventurous wilderness retreat.
From $610 person/night
Nestled on the banks of the Zambezi River, this is one of the best ways to experience Mana Pools, hands down.
Even if you’re not an avid fisherman, this is a fantastic opportunity to try your luck at catching a tiger fish.
Be sure to carry plenty of insect repellent with you, especially during the summer months of September to November.
In addition to sleeping tents, Zambezi Expeditions has a large, open-air main tent where breakfasts, lunches and dinners are served. Breakfast traditionally includes fresh fruit, yogurt, eggs, cereals, toasted bread and marmalade and is followed by your morning game drive. High tea is served in the afternoons and at night dinner is served around a communal table or around a bonfire. There's ample seating at the main tent and a mobile bar where you can place your orders for sundowners.
Zambezi Expeditions offers 6 twin-bedded meru-style tents with en-suite bathroom facilities. Each tent comprises of 2 single beds, a hanging cupboard, an outside patio area with chairs and a bathroom that comes with an al-fresco shower and flushing toilet. These canvas tents are finished in natural fabrics and each boasts exquisite views of the Zambezi River and the Zambian Mountain escarpment. Tents are equipped with fresh towels and linen, 12-volt lighting and charging facilities for cameras.

Zambezi Expeditions specialises in walking safaris through the park and canoeing safaris along the four pools after which the park is named. Some of the local residents you may encounter en-route include eland, elephant, African wild dogs, water buck, big herds of buffalo, kudu, lion and leopard. The river also boasts some of Africa's top Tiger fishing (catch and release), which can be undertaken either from the banks or off an island in the middle of the river. Daily game drives on an open 4x4 Land Cruiser are offered to all guests.
Zambezi Expeditions is owned by African Bush Camps who has been dedicated to improving the lives of communities near their camps in Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Zambia. Focused on education, empowerment, and conservation, they tackle challenges like unemployment, food scarcity, and wildlife poaching. With a commitment to sustainability, they cover operating costs, ensuring that every guest's stay directly supports their impactful projects, fostering a partnership to preserve Africa's natural heritage.
A contribution of $85 per guest, which is included in the nightly rate, goes towards the above goals.
