What you'll do
This self-drive route is a Namibian classic that will give you a real feel for the epic country.
After one night of acclimatisation in Windhoek, you’ll pick up a 4x4 and head for the secluded Desert Homestead in Sossusvlei, the land of iconic amber dunes, hot-air balloons and mighty sunsets.
You’ll then drive to Swakopmund, a quaint German town with something for everyone be it skydiving, quad-biking or strolling the streets looking for the best konditorei - and spend your downtime in the aptly-named The Delight Guesthouse.
Namibia is also home to the big beasties and that’s what the next destinations are all about. Damaraland brings black rhino and landscapes to take your breath away, whilst game drives in Etosha reveal impressive numbers of elephant and lion. Finish off with a night at Okonjima and learn about the fantastic conservation work they are doing.
