Dolomite Camp

Perched high on a dolomite ridge (its all in the name!), the camp has one of the best views in Etosha - so good in fact, that we almost recommend missing a game drive just to take it all in… Gaze at it from the infinity pool, bar or one of two fire-pits and soak up the magic. Meals are served at individual tables in the restaurant by day or under the stars in the evening, often accompanied by the roaring of the resident lion.

20 canvas and wood chalets are all perched high on the ridge, taking full advantage of the impressive camera-loving vistas. There is a golf buggy to help with luggage ferrying, but be warned – the pathways are steep. Inside, rooms are tastefully furnished with wooden floors and crisp linens and the small balconies are excellent sundowner spots. Bathrooms are small but well equipped and there’s an army of gadgets to make you feel at home.

This area of the park is a self-drive dream and many guests will bring their own 4x4s for wildlife watching. If you can’t tell your buck from your buffalo however, then join one of NWRs twice-daily game drives with one of the experienced guides and head deep into the park in search of an elusive rhino or black-faced impala. Night are also available if booked in advance, but remember to take a jacket as it can definitely get chilly when the sun disappears.
