A forested hill backs the main building, a castle-like structure of local stone, roofed in cool thatch. The shady, rather formal interiors include two restaurants, a main bar, and a well-stocked wine cellar to fuel chatty evenings. Outside is a curved, rock-lined pool and a pool bar, and a fully equipped spa for a little pampering, indoors or in the bush.
Of the 16 safari tents, all set apart on platforms for privacy and the views, eight are standard safari-style tents and eight are luxurious Hemingway-style affairs, generous in size and glam in that old-style colonial way. All the tents are very comfortable, though, and tastefully decked out with every basic luxury, with en-suite bathrooms, protective shade netting and mosquito nets. Extras in the Hemingway tents include an outside bathtub (ideal for bathing beneath the stars), and a large viewing deck.
Take a day or night drive in Epacha Game Reserve, with the mountains and rolling hills for a backdrop, and discover the region's game life up close and personal. Join an experienced guide on a 4x4 safari into Etosha National Park, where game viewing starts the moment you enter Andersson's Gate. Try your hand at clay-pigeon shooting (equipment provided), enjoy the delights of the spa and, best of all, soak up the wide and awe-inspiring views from your veranda.
A safari wonderland, where plentiful waterholes amid the salt pans attract even more plentiful game.
