Behind the property's ultra-modern clean lines lie undeniably high-end interiors, with gleaming tile floors and a vast palette of whites. There's a good flow in the friendly public areas, with a well-stocked bar, an arrangement of dining tables (breakfast, lunch and dinner are included), and a comfortable sitting area. All four suites and four deluxe rooms have clear glass doors that open to those distinctive Knysna views; some also overlook the ancient Outeniqua Mountains. The accommodation is spacious throughout, but the suites are larger, with charmingly idiosyncratic luxuries like a fireplace (Captain's Room) and, in the Elephant Room, an enormous sundeck and sauna. The decor throughout is tones of white with bold red accessories. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms, balconies, and every mod con imaginable. Kick back, you're home.

Visit between June and September to witness the annual migration of southern right whales. All rooms offer ocean views; the west-facing rooms have the edge.
