Jozibanini Camp is situated in the remote southwestern corner of Hwange National Park, in an area occupied for the past two decades by only wildlife and park rangers. This small, friendly camp is the real deal – it sits respectfully in this untamed wilderness where San people once roamed. Here, you'll get the chance to experience truly unspoiled wilderness. Take a mountain bike safari following the paths of elephants, walk in the footsteps of bushmen, and sleep under the stars. We're really drawn to this camp for its gentle approach to reviving an area far off the well-trodden tourist path. You will be too.

Taking part in the "pump run". Not a jogging route, but rather a routine check-up of the pumps and waterholes that run from the park’s headquarters near Bomani Lodge to Jozibanini Camp. Watching game heading for the water sources stops you in your tracks – a wonderful experience.
Watching elephants from the underground hide – you're very close to them, and watching these great beasts groan and grunt as they squirt dozens of litres of water into their mouths will boggle your brain. What an experience!
Jozibanini lies in its own private concession (the nearest tourism facility is four hours away), so visitors here have a vast swathe of Hwange all to themselves. And that's unusual in the southern hemisphere's game parks.
At the camp's heart, instead of a brick and mortar lodge, sits a humble communal campfire. It is here where your dinners will take place, under a blanket of brilliant stars. Throughout camp, the furnishings are simple, exemplifying what Jozibanini is all about: setting a light footprint on the land. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual. If you want rustic but comfortable, you've arrived.
With just five tents, the camp is indeed very intimate. Built beneath the acacias on raised wooden platforms overlooking the lodge's waterhole, the canvas tents each have a double bed or two twins. The tents are all solar-powered and have en-suite bathrooms with a flush toilet. Water will be heated on the fire and brought to your tent for hot showers. The interiors are comfortable and humbly furnished, with mosquito nets and simple lighting. For a real bush experience, wheel your bed onto the deck and sleep beneath the stars.
This is where you go for complete remoteness. The staff are delightful, the guides incredibly knowledgeable and the elephants, in fact all the creatures, mesmerising.
Make the most of your sightings of elephants, giraffes, elephants, lions and wild dogs on morning, afternoon and evening drives. For the active adventurer, Jozi offers a unique experience to mountain bike along the compacted trails of elephant paths. The remote wilderness and quiet of the camp lends itself to tracking game on foot and the experienced guides will know which way to go. While on foot, visit the under-ground hide, a great spot the catch the action.
At night, listen to the sounds of the bush and admire the stars from your bed. Draped in mosquito net, these starbeds will be rolled onto the deck of your tent - a serene and inspiring way to finish each day in the bush.
