Set on the hillside inn a garden of prehistoric cycads, the Fayoumi-style villa has a spectacular view. Stone pathways lead through the greenery, where you'll find two infinity pools and a separate spa for knot-destroying massages in the Turkish hammam and soaks in the Moroccan bath. The Blue Donkey restaurant is bright and cheery with mismatched cushions and a vibrant gallery of paintings. Curl up with a book by the fireplace or recline on the terrace with something chilled.
Decorated with items from the owner's private collection, Lazib Inn's 15 suites are fitted with tasseled, vintage rugs, wood-burning fireplaces, and King-sized platform beds topped with 800 thread count Egyptian cotton. All rooms are individually designed, but every suite is bold and artistic with a combination of art and mod furnishings. The bathrooms have a large jetted tub, rainfall shower, and double vanity counters, whilst outside, there are pretty balconies with flowering vines growing along the pillars and sensational views of Lake Qarun.
There is SO much to see and experience in the Fayoum Oasis. Go horseback riding through the shallows of Lake Qarun, sandboarding in the Western Desert, or discover the waterfalls of the Wadi El Rayan (with desert on every side). Get to know Tunis Village's thriving artistic side with a pottery class, take a 4x4 drive to the Pharaonic temples in Madinet Madi, and see the surreal valley of whale fossils - it's one of the largest and most amazing open-air museums in Egypt.
A wonderfully profound and gloriously wild immersion into Egypt’s ancient past and the new world.
