The Fort Printers

The Fort Printers is bright and charming with pleasantly spacious interiors. Shuttered, sage-green doors lead into the frangipani-shaded courtyard, which features a pool and alfresco dining tables. Decorated in light cream tones and bold art, 39 Bistro serves a variety of seafood, Mediterranean and Sri Lankan dishes, while the marble-top bar provides a cosy atmosphere for evening drinks. With plush, powder-blue chairs and wide windows, The Writer's Room is an ideal spot for reclining with a book from their eclectic collection.

Bedrooms are all scattered between the main house and two annexed wings, connected to the main hotel via a courtyard or small street. All rooms have King-sized four-poster or platform beds, and the rooms in the wings also have a lounge, dining area and kitchen. In the main house, expect antique hardwood floors, silk curtains and recycled cottons, whilst in the wings, the style is more contemporary with particularly large and luxurious bathrooms. Some rooms are noticeably larger, with a sitting area and views over the Galle Lighthouse.
