Experience the islands, scenery, and wildlife of the Antarctic in their full magnitude on this once-in-a-lifetime odyssey.
From the southernmost tip of Argentina, you'll set sail on your great Antarctic odyssey. The first stop is the Falkland Islands and capital 'city' Port Stanley, full of English-style houses and pubs, and the opportunity to spot many species of penguins as well as a plethora of other sea birds. Make sure to look to the water for darting Peale's and Commerson's dolphins too. Then, you'll cross the Antarctic Convergence, a phenomenon that attracts everything from albatross to petrels, before arriving in South Georgia. Spend a couple days exploring on Zodiac trips and hiking expeditions that will offer an abundance of wildlife sighting opportunities: King penguins, Antarctic fur seals, and wandering albatross (who have the widest wingspan of any bird) are just some of the highlights for you on your expedition! Other activities include retracing the steps of Sir Ernest Shackleton and visiting an abandoned whaling station at Grytviken, which has been reclaimed by penguins. The last leg of your journey heads south, past breathtaking glaciers and tabular icebergs, as you enter the Antarctic where you can actually set foot on the seventh continent!
